See if you can figure out this interview question?
You only have one chance to make a great first impression. DON’T SCREW IT UP!
Take your time and make your resume look great. Remember your resume is a snap shot of you. If your resume is professional, most likely so are you. If your resume is a mess of run on sentences, spelling errors, no spaces between sentences, most likely you are sloppy as well.
Some believe a resume is a list of exaggerations, half-truths, embellishments, and misleading information. The average hiring Manager will be able to determine what is truthful and what is not. Every thing you put into your resume needs to be verifiable and you should be able to back it up with a story. Being dishonest will lead to the termination of your candidacy. I have seen individuals hired and then terminated months into their employment when it was determined that they had lied on their resume. Keep the information on your resume truthful and verifiable.
Lastly, share your final resume draft with four professional associates that are a hiring authority, and you are friendly with. Ask them for their straight forward and honest opinion. Don’t fight them if they make suggestions, just thank them. Evaluate what they have suggested and make changes if you feel it will help.
Best wishes for success!
